Governor Kathy Hochul signed an amendment to New York State Workers' Compensation Law that takes effect January 1, 2027. The amendment creates a new eligibility standard for certain construction workers covered by a collective bargaining agreement. These updated regulations provide guidance to implement this law and align the regulations to the statute.
The Notice of Proposed Rule Making will be published in the August 19, 2026, edition of the State Register. Comments about the proposal will be accepted for 60 days after publication. Please submit comments by emailing regulations@wcb.ny.gov.
