WCL §§ 14(6) and 15(8)
The Special Disability Fund reimburses insurers for claims with dates of accident before 7/1/2007 where the claimant was classified as permanently partially disabled (WCL §15(8)) or where the insurer is liable for paying concurrent employment benefits (WCL §14(6)). The Special Disability Fund is administered by the Special Funds Group.
There are specific processes and forms to use when requesting reimbursement from the Special Disability Fund.
Waiver Agreement Management Office (WAMO) negotiates and seeks Board approval for Section 32 waiver agreements on behalf of the Special Disability Fund for WCL §§ 14(6) and 15(8) claims.
