Subject Number 046-948 Temporary Suspension of Dr. Christopher David Passidomo’s Authorization to Treat Injured Workers Effective June 2, 2017

Subject Numbers Regarding Health Provider Authorizations

Authorization No. 213818-8W

June 6, 2017

Pursuant to Workers' Compensation Law Section 13-d(4), the Chair of the New York State Workers' Compensation Board has exercised his authority to temporarily suspend Dr. Christopher David Passidomo’s authorization to treat injured workers within the New York State workers’ compensation system effective June 2, 2017. Dr. Passidomo's last known business address is 2233 Nesconset Highway, Apt. 105, Lake Grove, New York 11755.

The Chair’s designee’s investigation has revealed that the New York State Department of Health, State Board for Professional Medical Conduct (BPMC) has issued Order # 17-140, wherein Dr. Passidomo agreed not to contest the allegations, including that he failed to render appropriate care and treatment to multiple patients, and/or prescribed medications, including controlled substances, in an inappropriate manner to these patients, and that he engaged in boundary violations in the care and treatment of a patient. This resulted in a thirty-six (36) month stayed suspension and a thirty-six (36) month probationary period, during which Dr. Passidomo may practice medicine only when monitored by a licensed physician, board certified in an appropriate specialty (“Practice Monitor”), and during which he must successfully complete a continuing education program subject to the Director of BPMC’s prior written approval.

Therefore, the Chair believes that Dr. Passidomo may be guilty of misconduct, and that such misconduct would detrimentally affect the quality of care provided to injured workers.

Dr. Passidomo is prohibited from rendering treatment and care to injured workers while his authorization is temporarily suspended. Reports submitted by Dr. Passidomo for services rendered prior to June 2, 2017, are valid, but are invalid for any services rendered on or after that date. Requests to cross-examine Dr. Passidomo for services rendered prior to June 2, 2017, should not be denied due to the suspension of his authorization.
