The Chair has adopted amendments to 12 NYCRR 324.3(a)(1) to ensure that sacroiliac joint (SIJ) fusion and peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS) are not performed unnecessarily, and that if these procedures are medically necessary, that prior authorization for them has been obtained.
A Notice of Emergency Adoption and Proposed Rule Making was published in the May 18, 2022, edition of the State Register. A Notice of Adoption will be published in the September 21, 2022, edition of the State Register.
