Subject Number 046-1390 Temporary Suspension of Dr. Manish Mammen

Subject Numbers Regarding Health Provider Authorizations

Authorization No. 283953-8W

March 29, 2021

Pursuant to Workers' Compensation Law Section 13-d(4), the Chair of the New York State Workers' Compensation Board has exercised her authority to temporarily suspend Dr. Manish Mammen’s authorization to treat injured workers within the New York State workers’ compensation system effective March 25, 2021. Dr. Mammen's last known business address is:

5 Columbus Circle, 10th Floor
New York, NY 10019

The Chair’s designee’s investigation has revealed that, on or about January 20, 2021, the Workers’ Compensation Board Office of General Counsel served a letter upon Dr. Mammen regarding a complaint alleging violation of Workers’ Compensation Law §13-f. To date, Dr. Mammen has not responded to the aforementioned letter.

Therefore, the Chair believes that Dr. Mammen may be guilty of misconduct pursuant to WCL §13-d(2)(f) for failing to respond to the Board’s correspondence, and that such misconduct would detrimentally affect the quality of care provided to injured workers.

Dr. Mammen is prohibited from rendering treatment and care to injured workers, or conducting reviews of records regarding variance requests pursuant to 12 NYCRR § 324.3(b)(2)(ii)(a), while his authorization is temporarily suspended. Reports submitted by Dr. Mammen for services rendered prior to March 25, 2021, are valid but are invalid for any services rendered on or after that date. Requests to cross-examine Dr. Mammen for services rendered prior to March 25, 2021, should not be denied due to the suspension of his authorization.

This suspension remains in effect until further notice. Any questions regarding the authorized lists should be referred to the Medical Director’s Office at 1 (800) 781-2362.
