John S. Burnett, M.D. (Authorization Number 177747-3W)

Please be advised that, effective September 1, 2009, the New York State Department of Health's Board for Professional Medical Conduct adopted Consent Order No. 09-162, wherein Dr. Burnett admitted to engaging in professional misconduct; namely, failing to exercise appropriate supervision over persons authorized to practice under his supervision, in violation of New York Education Law Section 6530 (33).

Pursuant to Workers' Compensation Law Section 13-d (5), the Chair of the New York State Workers' Compensation Board has exercised his authority to temporarily suspend the authorization of Dr. Burnett, effective November 18, 2009, through August 31, 2012. Dr. Burnett's last known business address is 173 East Orvis Street, Massena, New York 13662.

During the period of temporary suspension, Dr. Burnett is prohibited from rendering medical treatment and care to individuals who have suffered work-related injuries or illnesses. Medical reports submitted by Dr. Burnett for treatment rendered prior to November 18, 2009, are valid, but are invalid for any treatment rendered on or after that date through August 31, 2012. Requests to cross-examine Dr. Burnett regarding treatment he rendered prior to November 18, 2009, should not be denied due to the temporary suspension of his authorization.

Bruce N. Silverstein, M.D. (Authorization Number 185639-2W)

Please be advised that the authorization of Bruce N. Silverstein, M.D., to treat workers' compensation claimants has been temporarily suspended for one year, effective November 18, 2009. His last known business address is 5100 West Taft Road, Suite 1D, Liverpool, New York 13088.

Dr. Silverstein is prohibited from rendering medical treatment and care to individuals who have suffered work-related injuries or illnesses. Medical reports submitted by Dr. Silverstein for treatment rendered prior to November 18, 2009, are valid, but are invalid for any treatment rendered on or after that date. Requests to cross-examine Dr. Silverstein regarding treatment he rendered prior to November 18, 2009, should not be denied due to the temporary suspension of his authorization.
