eCase User's Guide

Login Information for First Time eCase Users

Please read these instructions before accessing eCase for the first time.

eCase requires a java plug-in to be installed on your computer (PC). The java plug-in needs to be installed only once, on your computer, however, it is used each time you access eCase.

  • Minimum Requirements
Verify that the computer you will use to access eCase meets the System Requirements.
  • eCase Availability
Check the On-line Services Availability web page to be sure that eCase is available for use. Select the eCase link from the menu on the left of the General Availability Information page for information specific to eCase.

This schedule is updated periodically when additional maintenance periods are scheduled, so please review this information frequently.
  • Accessing eCase
To access eCase from the Board's home page at: www.wcb.ny.gov
    • Select "eCase" from the "Login for Access To: " selection box, or
Select the eCase computer image and on the next page select Access eCase from the menu on the left.
    • Enter your user ID & password and select Login

Remember, your password is case sensitive.
Note: If this is the first time you are using your user ID and password, you will be prompted to change your password.
  • Installing the Java Plug-In on your PC
If the java plug-in used by eCase has NOT been installed on your PC then you will need to install the java plug-in on your PC. Once the java plug-in is installed, it will be used each time you access eCase. It does not need to be installed each and every time you access eCase. Of course, if you run eCase from a different computer than the one with the installed plug-in, you will also need to install the plug-in on the different computer.
