Subject Number 046-402 Temporary Suspension of Dr. Jerome Benjamin Leff's Podiatry License

Subject Numbers Regarding Health Provider Authorizations

Please be advised that, effective December 15, 2009, the New York State Board of Regents on behalf of the Department of Education, Office of the Professions, adopted by Original Vote and Order (No. 24161), the application of Jerome Benjamin Leff, D.P.M., wherein he admitted guilt to practicing the profession of podiatry with negligence on more than one occasion. Dr. Leff agreed to a penalty of license suspension for two years, all but 1 month was stayed with probation for two years thereafter. The period of actual suspension was December 23, 2009, to January 22, 2010. The last known business address of Dr. Leff is Maiden Lane Podiatry, P.C., 1 Maiden Lane, New York, New York 10038-4015.

As of the effective date of December 23, 2009, through January 22, 2010, Dr. Leff was precluded from rendering podiatric treatment and care to individuals who have suffered work-related injuries or illnesses. Medical reports submitted by Dr. Leff for treatment or examinations rendered prior to December 23, 2009, are valid, but are invalid for any treatment or examinations rendered until January 23, 2010. Requests to cross-examine Dr. Leff regarding treatment or examinations he rendered prior to December 23, 2009, and after January 22, 2010, should not be denied due to the one month suspension of his license to practice podiatry.
