Workers’ Compensation Board

Information Related To Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Manhattan and Newburgh Attorneys and Licensed Representatives

The Board is expanding the pilot program for virtual-only Section 32 hearings to include Manhattan as well as the Newburgh (New Windsor) hearing location. The virtual-only Section 32 hearings are expected to expedite scheduling as a physical hearing room is not utilized.

Parties interested in pursuing a virtual-only Section 32 hearing should advise the Board, in writing that all parties agree, at the time they submit their Section 32 paperwork to the Board for processing. As the virtual-only Section 32 hearings are not physically held in the Manhattan or Newburgh hearing location, all parties to these hearings must agree to appear virtually. It will be the responsibility of the parties to confirm that all can appear virtually, and will do so on the scheduled hearing date.

Claimants will continue to have the ability to appear by phone, if necessary.
